I think the moment in time where I knew I had transcended nerdness to Super Nerd status was shortly after I graduated from college. Bachelors degree in hand, world at my feet, I suddenly couldn’t find anything that resembled a career. So what did I do? I opened a board and roleplaying game store. Obviously, this totally made sense. My store is sadly closed and I have moved on to that career I hadn’t quite figured out when I originally left college, but being a Super Nerd is something that doesn’t just go away.
As of now, I continue to game weekly in just about anything that resembles science fiction, have a closet jammed with board games, am a fencing instructor at two local clubs, and take great joy in teaching my two year old daughter the joys of Star Wars and Doctor Who (she screams with delight at the sound of a TARDIS).
Oh, and by the way, my real name is Brian – but as we already had one on the site, I have “reactivated” the name I was known as when I owned my store. I hope you enjoy the site as much as I do.
