I came from a family of passionate Science Super Nerds. My mom works in laboratory full time and has for more than 20 years and has passed her passion for the sciences onto me. As I child I loved taking apart anything and everything: remote controls, bees (that’s called dissection!), the lawnmower, and so on!
Depending on your age, you may be too young or too old to remember things like speed racer and the eventual apotheosis of main stream anime programming, known as Toonami, but these were distinct things in my childhood that influenced my second Super Nerd passion, Anime! From underground (quite literally) anime such as Technolyze to the unbeatable –“OVER 9000!”- Powerhouse of DBZ, I became hooked, and regularly Nerd out on these matters. My love of Anime (mainly DBZ) lead me to pursue the martial arts and I eventually traveled to the far East, in Sichuan, China, where I studied the enigmatic language of Mandarin Chinese, explored amazing Chinese cuisine, and studied a style of Tai Ji Quan (tai chi chuan) that almost no foreigners have had the opportunity to learn!
I am currently finishing a degree in my other passion, Philosophy, and look forward to returning to the mysterious Far East to continue my martial education and indulge my intrigue in such amazing subjects as traditional Daoism (an integral part to any Chinese Wushu) and other Chinese thoughts.
I often find myself scouring the internet, the library, and friend’s minds for the future of Science and where mankind is going, and how we will get there! I am a passionate optimist and love to see the plethora of ways humankind is coming to master our world! I love technology, and yes, given the chance I would probably put my brain in a robot body, to quote Captain Murphy of Sealab 2021!
